Whilst the responsibility of architecture is to provide a place of shelter from the wind, the rain and the sun, its essence is one that can turn these elements into poetry.

Atelier Aether is an architecture studio established in Luxembourg in 2024. The studio creates projects that unfold between the material and the immaterial, revealing relationships that otherwise remain unseen.

O U R     V A L U E S

We work locally and internationally, with private clients and with institutions and municipalities, in the pursuit of an architecture that is sincere.

This always begins with client relationships that are based on trust, consideration, and open communication.

It means giving time and thought to the way buildings are constructed, how they last and create pleasure in their maintenance and use.

It involves meticulous attention to detail and the crafting of exquisite designs that are orientated towards everyday life.

We believe the best architecture comes from the efficient and sustainable use of high-quality materials, which can be technological and bespoke where necessary and whimsical and joyful elsewhere.

Fearghus was born in London in 1990 and holds British and Irish nationalities. Before establishing Atelier Aether in 2024, Fearghus worked with a range of small and large architectural offices, most notably Hopkins Architects in London. His professional experience spans projects throughout Europe and North America, with a particular focus on the education, cultural, and heritage sectors. During this period, he collaborated within teams of twenty or more architects and delivered projects independently.

Prior to his time at Hopkins, Fearghus worked for the London-based artist collective Troika, where he worked on the production of numerous artworks and the integration of their work into art institutions all over the world. In 2017 he co-founded the Other Art Network (OA.N), an arts organisation that commissions and produces contemporary art with the express intention of challenging traditional delineations of discipline and media in the arts.

In parallel with his architectural practice, Fearghus' academic research focuses on the intersection between architecture and film. Since 2021, Fearghus has taught Intermediate Unit 7 at the Architectural Association in London, with his long-time collaborator and teaching partner Marko Milovanovic. The work produced in Inter 7 is published on the Cinematic Landscape Exchange platform. Between 2021 and 2023 he was a unit tutor at Oxford Brookes University as well as programme head of the AA Visiting School Luxembourg.
